On the 8th February 2017 I projected my performance for video in Studio 1 of Atelier | RE.AL, Lisbon, Portugal.

During January and February 2017 I was part of the <25 Routes Residency for 5 weeks in Lisboa, Portugal. Therefore, this film explores 24 (<25 Routes) Routes of Lisboa.

This work explores the concept of finding routes through an urban environment. The notion of Routes dictating location, direction, thought processes, inner and outer self, and production of artistic work directly integrating with the environment and cityscape of Lisboa, Portugal.
The touristic and local architecture used in the video represents that of developing a connection to Lisboa. I spent 5 weeks on residency in the city, and so my human relationship with the given architecture developed, deepened and changed. I transcended locational boarders, demarcating geographical, cultural and social borders producing my own liquid city.
The effect of reversing the film provides an alternative view of the city, of conventional urban life, and questioning our rituals and identities within a capital city. The medium of video questions that of liquid-reality; the city continues to live and breath; video considered one of the liveliest of documentary works, yet the video becomes sterile, captured in time as time moves on.
